What's included

What a retail scope covers

Retail scopes lean heavily on the customer-facing surfaces, with back-of-house kept functional rather than showroom-standard.

Front of house

  • Entry glass, doors and handles cleaned to a streak-free finish
  • Full floor care — vacuum, mop or machine scrub to suit the surface
  • Counters, POS stations and display fixtures dusted and sanitised
  • Fitting rooms cleaned, mirrors polished, floors detailed
  • Bins emptied and relined throughout the trading floor

Back of house

  • Stock room floors swept and mopped, walkways kept clear
  • Staff room and kitchen cleaned and sanitised
  • Staff amenities cleaned and consumables restocked
  • Waste and cardboard moved to the designated collection point
  • Loading area swept and kept presentable

Periodic

  • External shopfront glass and signage cleaning
  • Hard floor strip and reseal, or polish and burnish
  • Carpet steam cleaning in carpeted retail areas
  • High dusting of shelving tops, light fittings and vents
  • Pressure washing of entry paths and awnings

Every scope is built for the individual site — this is the starting point, not a fixed menu.

Why it matters here

Retail presentation is a sales problem, not a cleaning problem

A smeared entry door or a dusty display shelf tells a customer something about the products behind it. Retail cleaning is worth doing properly because it directly affects what people are willing to pay.

  • Entry glass is treated as a priority surface, not an afterthought. It's the first thing every customer touches and the first thing they judge.
  • We clean outside trading hours — before open or after close — so there's never a wet floor sign in front of a customer.
  • Fitting rooms get real attention. Mirrors, hooks, seating and floors. It's where customers spend the most private time with your brand.
  • Multi-site retail groups get one point of contact and consistent standards across every store, with reporting rolled up by location.
  • Floor surfaces are matched to the right method. Polished concrete, vinyl, timber and tile each need a different approach to avoid dulling or damage.
Typical schedule

A typical shopfront contract

Based on a 150–350 m² retail tenancy in a strip or centre location.

Pre-open clean, 5–7 days a week

A 45–75 minute clean before trade covering glass, floors, counters, fitting rooms and amenities.

Back-of-house rotation

Stock room and staff areas detailed twice a week, keeping walkways compliant without daily cost.

Monthly external

Shopfront glass externally, entry path pressure washed, awning and signage dusted down.

Quarterly floor care

Strip and reseal or machine polish, scheduled overnight so the store trades as normal the next morning.

Common questions

Retail & Shopfront — your questions answered

Can you clean before we open?

Yes — that's how most of our retail work runs. We hold keys or access codes and clean before trade, typically between 5am and store opening. After-close cleaning is equally available if that suits your centre's access rules better.

Do you handle shopping centre tenancies?

Yes. We work within centre access procedures, loading dock bookings and after-hours security sign-in. We'll also make sure our insurance certificates are lodged with centre management, which most contracts require before we can start.

Can you clean our external shopfront glass and entry?

Yes. External glass is usually scheduled monthly or fortnightly depending on your location — a shopfront on a busy road needs it far more often than one inside a centre. Entry path pressure washing can be added on the same cycle.

We have several stores. Can you do all of them?

Yes, and it's usually cheaper per site. Multi-site retail groups get a single account manager, one consolidated invoice, and the same written scope applied consistently across every location, with audit reporting broken down store by store.
